Digital transformation covers areas such as information and communication technologies (ICT), digital identification and several technological solutions that allow the state to guarantee the interoperability of systems and promote the dissemination of information, in a free and transparent way.
AMA has a key role in the developing , promoting and supporting several technological areas within Public Administration. It also promotes research, development of new solutions and training in the areas of digital administration, both at national and international levels. 
AMA is responsible for directing the technical committee of the Council for Information and Communication Technologies (CTIC) and for digital authentication in Portugal (Citizen Card and associated authentication services).
